Shisha has no taste?

Today I bought a shisha with a colleague and we wanted to smoke it for the first time.

Everything works: smoke comes out, everything is screwed in correctly, new parts and enough water are put in, etc.

Unfortunately, you can't taste the tobacco, even though it was placed loosely and closer to the edge of the bowl as recommended on the internet.

We also poked holes in the aluminum foil and did everything correctly that we could find on the internet.

We also tried two different tobaccos but the problem persisted.
