Share storage?

Hi, I recently bought an iPad with 256 GB of storage. Mainly because my phone (also Apple) only has 64 GB and it's slowly filling up. I thought you could simply share the storage if you use the same Apple ID. But everywhere I look, it only works with iCloud+, and I don't want that. Does anyone know how to share the storage on my iPad with my phone without paying?

Hi Spacer!

The memory on the iPhone or IPad is unfortunately a physical memory. So a small memory card or chip that is in your iPhone and you can’t remove it so easily.

Only solutions

  1. Subscribe to ICloud +
  2. Send files via AirDrop to the other device and delete from the device with little memory.
  3. specializes in using a new memory chip so there is actually something. One of these costs a few cents in reality, but Apple will buy hundreds of euros.

I hope my answer will help you!

No, I can’t. You can only save files on your iPad instead of on your phone. It is not sensible or practical. The memory is fixed in the iPad, of course you can’t just share it.

I would just subscribe to iCloud+, with the most affordable option it costs 0.99€ a month for 50GB, but you always have a backup of your phone and all photos in iCloud. It is worth working with the Apple ecosystem.
