In the film it was truly a masterpiece, but one thing is unclear to me: a Patronus is like a large sound wave that starts small and gets bigger and brighter, so why is Snape's a deer?

Damit kann man z.b dementoren besiegen bzw aufhalten.
Der patronus hingegen ist ein Tier das wohl etwas besiegt als auch eine Nachricht überbringen kann.
Sie kann dementoren zwar auch verjagen aber es ist nur ein geringerer Schutz.
Weil der Patronus von Lily Potter ein Reh war.
Starke Zauberer haben einen Patronus in Tierform und weil Snape nach all den Jahren Lily immer noch so sehr liebt ist sein Patronus ein Reh.
