Hey,
So you could remove the iron chips with a magnet and then the remaining mixture can be separated by dissolving in water. Salt is readily soluble in water, while sand is not soluble. This means that the salt can be dissolved in water while the sand remains on the bottom of the vessel.
To separate the salt water from sand, filtration can be carried out by pouring the mixture through a filter. The filter will retain the sand while the salt water can flow through.
The salt can then be obtained by evaporation of the water. For this purpose, the salt water can be brought to boiling in an open vessel, whereby the water evaporates and the salt remains.
Hope could help you.
