Semester ticket question?

Hello,

I'm about to start studying in Göttingen and I've heard that the semester ticket allows free train, tram, and bus travel. However, I live in another federal state (Hesse). My question is: Is the semester ticket only valid in Lower Saxony, or can I also use it in Hesse?

Usually the semester ticket applies only to the City and the surrounding area . You won't be allowed to drive through all Lower Saxony for free.

The exact details of the semester ticket at your university can be found on the university website. So look here, not here.
