There is no selfpublishing publisher.

There are providers such as Books on Demand, or Amazon KDP that take over the production of the book for you (if your text has received a editorate, correctorate, layout and cover). I would consider selfpublishing only if no agency and no publisher really wanted to publish your text.

Selfpublishing is always associated with high costs and should therefore be very well considered. If you are still at the beginning of writing, I would advise you to read and work with some editors. If you want to celebrate smaller successes, take part in alerts.

These aren’t faults.

Selfpublisher Verlag is just ne Floskel the authors say that have no publisher. Selfpublisher completely relocate their book without publishing.

So you have to design the cover yourself, look for a print shop, etc.

That’s not correct. In the self-publishing you are responsible for everything yourself, including sales, compulsory delivery, imprint, tax deduction, etc. Selfpublishing service providers are, however, an independent publisher, so they can issue their own ISB number and also take care of many, even with good service providers, all, obligations. Examples are Tredition and BoD.

BoD presents you with an ISBN and also makes the mandatory deliveries.

My speech; BoD and Tredition listed here as positive exceptions. Most other providers accept only some (ePubli / Neobooks) or no (e.g. Amazon KDP) obligations at all.
