Self-employed in the e-com sector with or without training?

Good day,

I (17) will be graduating from high school at the end of this year. I haven't looked for a job yet because I have no idea what field I want to go into. I started looking into online business in detail when I was 15. No, I'm not the type of person who was inspired by TikTok and now wants to do dropshipping, trading or some other nonsense. I own a very rare domain and want to build a business on it as a retailer, collaborating with various companies. Now I'm in a dilemma. I don't know what I can do for training, my parents are stressing me out more and more about it, rightly so, of course, and at the same time I want to become self-employed on the side. I have no idea what to do now. That's why I wanted to get help here.

Regards, Colin

You could do an apprenticeship as an e-commerce merchant. Then you can still start your own business, but you'll already have learned the theoretical basics and seen the practical side of things. And if that doesn't work out, you can always get a job somewhere.

That's why training as an e-commerce merchant is a good option.

As an absolute minimum, you should seek advice from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry

Training is extremely important—otherwise, your business won't succeed! But: You can get training in the e-com field! 🙂

Get an apprenticeship and build your business at the same time
