Self-employed truck driver rights?

Good morning,

Employed truck drivers aren't allowed to spend their 45 hours of rest in the truck. Does this also apply to self-employed drivers?

The rules apply to all! Where the race management presses an eye, these are the many drivers from other states who spend their WE on parking and resting places. They have no other choice.

National regulations must be complied with. If you are traveling in international traffic, you have to make yourself smart and take appropriate precautions and plan.

If I go through the area in France and overrun my driving time for 1 minute, I can’t say “But it’s not that strict in Germany.” The police in France smiles only tired and cassed.

Quote from Switzerland. “If we wanted you to drive your truck for 83 hours, we would have written 83 on the traffic sign. That’s 40 francs.”

I understand. Thanks for the detailed explanation. In D, the drivers get their spears. But what does that look like in PL, LT, RO, H,…? What the bosses need and what they actually… Spesen according to Polish law and economy are hardly enough for more than a cheap pension. And you have to come and find a parking place with the “small cars”.

… this is also regulated. The costs are provided by the AG. It may be that the driver must come forward at the first moment. Nonetheless, he does not have a financial disadvantage that the costs are reimbursed by the AG (MÃœSSEN).

To this end, internal regulations are of course necessary which costs are taken over. (No AG has to pay the stay in Waldorf Astoria with spa area. The Hotel Garni…

The costs for this are to be taken into account in the planning of the journey.

And since the same is true for all, the argument “then it is no longer profitable”. Because everyone has to pay a hotel…

And who should pay the hotel costs? The underpaid drivers? Your boss or disponent will certainly not do this!

What does the requirement that the break should not be spent in the truck to do with quitting the job?

The regulations are clearly defined and if the people who don’t calculate the costs for hotel or pension are not the fault of the scheme…

In the end, it is about the health and recovery of the driver and not whether it costs more or is not profitable.

Don’t tell anyone.

The specification is, overnight NOT in the truck so –> hotel. If he decides against this option he must count on punishment…

The scheme is the same for all professional drivers. It doesn’t matter if the driver is self-employed or hired
