No, if the old camera only recognizes 2GB cards, it has to do with the SD standard, then it can only move with very old cards. It’s nix if you partition a SDHC or SDXC because the camera simply doesn’t support these standards.

Just get one of these old cards with 2GB max:

Should you have the 4GB limit for FAT32 or BIOS problems mean that you can reduce the partition, however, the total memory of the SD card is crucial – even if only 2GB are partitioned and 6GB unpartitioned – partitioning does not bring the problem solution even if it is possible

The corresponding tool is called Diskpart (Windows/Terminal) or Disk Management (Windows with GUI)
