SD card suddenly has spots?
Hey, I just took my SD card out of my phone and now it doesn't work anymore. There are black spots on two of the contacts at the bottom. I don't know if it's dirt or burnt-in, but I can't get it off with my finger. Does anyone have any ideas how I can possibly save the data or get rid of the spots?

The pin with the big spot is the VDD pin (power supply) and the other with the small spot the CLK line (Clock).
Looks like something happened. Do you have a multimeter?
If this is no longer detected, it would be a case for the garbage can or a professional data savior if the data are important (cost about 300+ EUR).
No I don’t have a multimeter and the data is important but not worth 300€. It would be a shame if they were lost.
Someone said that I could try to get the stains away with nail varnish remover (without perfume) or spirituose. I don’t know if I should do that. Some say no.
Do you know what the stains come from? They were pretty suddenly there
Looks burned – VDD is the line in the current goes in and CLK is almost the clock. Looks like there’s something with the controller part of the SSD.
You can try it with nail polish remover, but I give the action a chance of 0.01%
Under a microscope you should see it well or with a watchmaker magnifier. Then you could see if that’s burned or not.
You can try the SPI hack with a Raspberry and read the data via SPI bus via the serial interface. To do this, you should be able to program and solder – but I would also give it a max. 1-2% that it works.
And 1GB via SPI / serial interface needs I think far over a day.
Short-circuits like to cause sudden spots. Is it really a spot or burnt?
I might have an idea – send you a friendship request…
