Scooter revs up what to do?
Hello. I have a scooter (Vamos G) and was driving across a field while it was raining. I was almost out of the field when the scooter automatically accelerated to full throttle. I thought it would be fixed right away, but it wasn't. When I start it, it accelerates to full throttle straight away, but accelerating or decelerating doesn't work. Can anyone help me?
It could be a jammed throttle, your throttle cable is stuck, or the needle on your carburetor is broken. If too much dirt is getting into it, that could also be a cause. Since, as you mentioned, you were driving through a field, I'd start looking at the carburetor/air filter.
In the simplest case, after removing the air filter box, you check whether the slide or the throttle valve of the carburettor is wide open even when the throttle is not operated.
If so, there could be something stuck on the throttle cable, or it could have slipped out of a guide somewhere.
I think the throttle cable on the carburettor has come loose. You have to screw it back on. Where was it on my scooter?
