Schweller am VW Golf 5 austauschen?
Hallo, ich war vor kurzem mit meinem Golf 5 beim TÜV und der hat festgestellt, dass ich Rost am Schweller habe und deswegen gab mir auch keinen TÜV. Ich war heute in einer Werkstatt und der Fachmann meinte, dass bei mir der Schweller an einer Seite komplett durchgerostet sei. Nun schlug er mit seiner Ansicht nach die einzige Option und zwar, der Schwelleraustausch durch einen Reparaturschweller. Die Kosten sind dabei enorm gewesen.
Gibt es denn vielleicht noch eine andere Möglichkeit zur Behebung dieses Problems oder alles andere wird sinnlos sein?

Mostly, the TÜV first smoothes through-rusted threshold end tips which can still be repaired/oriented at low cost. If, in this reperature, “saving” and/or non-regular cavity provision is carried out, the sills completely rust up to the middle. Then it is best to scrape or export the car because the “coating plate” is just a plaster to shy through TÜV, but the problem is the inner sill is also weggered and the car would have to be implanted on the target bench and a completely new sill structure.
There is the emergency solution that one welds a lattice girder or perforated plate girder for stiffening under the coating sheet, some edges also only fit a hat profile for this, but that only body builders or engineers can.

Can you get a second opinion from Ner’s other workshop, but if it’s through it, it’s really gonna have to change it. This usually doesn’t happen from today to tomorrow, hasn’t anyone ever told you anything before?

No, not really. It was meant that there is rust on the threshold, but you did not consider it a problem.

What are you talking about? Enorm is not an exact indication. For future cutting out with preparatory work, welding, sealing and then painting it should be 1500€ if it should last for a few years.
Let other workshops make you an estimate. It is often not necessary.
You can watch on eBay classifieds looking for car cars and get the right part. Evtl. so save costs
