Pregnancy questions?

Hello, I am 5 months pregnant and have a few questions as this is my first baby and I am still inexperienced.

  1. Which bed would you recommend? I don't want to co-sleep because my husband kicks and moves around a lot in his sleep.
  2. Which bottles and pumps would you recommend? I want to breastfeed, but I'll also pump and transfer the milk into bottles.
  3. I only have a small shower, what is the best way to bathe the baby?
  4. Should I wake the baby every 3-4 hours to breastfeed? Even if he's sleeping?

1. Extra bed, ours was from Babybay. I’m sure the child is next to you and there’s nothing to happen.

Two. It depends. I bought a cheap hand pump from Medela. If you want to pump off regularly, it’s unpractical. Then there would be an electric better, some can even be hidden in the bra (e.g. from Elvie).

ABER you should remember that not with every baby the change between chest and bottle works. My son, for example, drank breast milk exclusively, the bottle was completely denied, just as quiet-friendly feeding with spoon or cup. He just wanted the chest. No matter how much he was hungry.

3. Tub. Ideal are those with frame. We had one that could be placed with a frame exactly above the toilet bowl (so that the used water can run directly into the bowl when you pull the plug) and the hose of the shower was long enough to fill the tub there as well.

4. No. You don’t wake up a sleeping baby. Babies are competent, they are already touching when they need something. The “all three to four hours” is already outdated. Nowadays, when the baby is hungry, even if the last meal is not three hours ago.

1. Extra bed. But it worked at about 5th week. Before that the worm lay on me at night and I lay half sitting with many pillows around me on the couch. We slept with my husband for almost three months. Now we sleep in the family bed, but between child and man is always quiet cushion.

Two. I got Medela, it was cheap and okay. On the market, many “used” are sold that were barely used. I may have used mine only 4-5x. These are very good for light milk jam or knots at first. In most of the women at the beginning of the breastfeeding period.

3. Look for used baby tub. There are many and look immediately for a bigger one so that it is longer enough and on the feet. Your back is thankful.

4. No, don’t wake. It will happen, but rarely that they sleep a little longer than 4h. I woke only about 2-3x when he slept longer than 5h and my breast was exploded. But he didn’t really wake up. But don’t wake during the day. In the beginning, they often come.

There is too little milk in the 4-6 still week. The babies have great growth boost and must first animate the breast to produce more milk. It usually takes 2-3 days. We gave the bottle at 1x night. Please don’t despair. Almost everyone I’ve seen. It’s just so often it’s going to work.

  1. With both of us, we have slept best when the baby was lying on one of them at night (about 3 months later a baby nest was concerned and placed between us)
  2. Take advantage of these here: https://www.mambaby.com/de/p/mam-easy-start-anti-colic-baby bottle-160ml-0-monate-1-stck/fc1e4zf001-hvr22/
  3. Get a baby bath at classifieds
  4. No, the child is already reporting by itself, if it’s very extreme and it should sleep 6-7 std on the piece during the day. It won’t happen.
