Exemption from school due to language trip?

Hi👋So, I want to go on a language trip this fall break (it's not possible during the summer break because my parents have already planned something then), but since two weeks might not be enough, or the flight costs wouldn't be worth it, I'd like to take a week off from school before or after the fall break and extend the language trip. So far, I've only found questions about this here regarding the summer break, and it's different there because there's basically no classes going on anymore. Thanks in advance for your help 🙂

Hello

a speech-resie in the holidays is a good idea. to your points:

  • Language resentment usually lasts 2 weeks – because that is good enough to improve the spake skills. This is so in summer and should also apply to autumn.
  • Language travel is best for young people from Germany to England or Malta. The travel costs are therefore limited.
  • Whether your school approves of teaching is very questionable. All you can do is ask directly at your school.

Best regards

Exemption must be requested in writing and approved by the school. Only after that you’re really smarter.

Evtl. it’s different from school to school to get an exemption, but I can tell you that my niece (primary school) had the last day of school before the spring holidays in Hamburg difficulties getting free because of a round birthday celebration of my husband.

I can’t imagine that you’ll get an extra two weeks, because your family has planned the summer vacation. Maybe you should move the language stay to the summer holidays 2024. Whether or not flight costs are worthwhile for 2 weeks is also not decisive for the decision.

I don’t think that’s approved. But ask nothing.

You have to apply for this at school. I can’t imagine this going through. Such liberations exist only for good reasons. This is probably not a language journey because you can easily lay it down so that it falls into the holiday season.
