Bad credit rating?

Hi, I opened my first checking account three months ago (I recently turned 18). However, I can hardly buy anything with my card. Installment payments are being rejected, citing "creditworthiness" as the reason. But how can I have a bad credit rating if I haven't bought anything yet? I've made about six payments online so far, all of which were paid with Sofort Direct Debit.

On the other hand, I'm told that my credit score will improve if I buy something on installments and pay them on time. But how am I supposed to do that if I can't buy anything?

For your information: I wanted to buy an iPad for my studies for 450€ in installments, so again not something that costs several 1000€

Rate payment is qusi a credit, and you don’t get it as an azuub and if you don’t work at all then you’ll get it.

You have a bad credit because you just got 18 fresh and want to start buying stuff on pump (and you can’t change the scenario)

What do you think is a rate payment? At that age, you should start buying things for which you also have the money. It is understandable that the companies take such behaviour as an extremely high risk for them (regular income cannot be expected at all times). The banks and Klarna/Paypal/sonstwer know their poplars.

The odds that you don’t pay are very high

Usually with a credit card with a limit – you get from your home bank if you can present a regular and sufficient earning income (not a mini-job).

Wlan/handy contract (only contract, without installments) can work, but does not have to. There are also different reviews for the information.

Contracts with telecommunications companies increase your reliability for this score – but not the reliability for credits and rate payments.

In any case, you don’t get around to an income above the Pfändungsgrenze (currently 1300 € or so) and before you should not go to the personal protection of yourself. Currently you have the feeling that the companies want you something bad, but let what happen to you at the moment (statistically speaking, the danger that someone in your situation can’t pay is massively high) – do you want to start living directly with a negative Schufa with 19 years?

Save. borrow money from family or friends and repay it

No company gives you a loan or a rate payment in the current (or near future) situation, you have to accept that in place. Even if you don’t like this information.

That’s exactly what credit is when you can pay your bills. And you’ll try after your 18th. Birthday to buy credit. That’s not how it works.

Do you understand what creditworthiness is?

I wouldn’t borrow EUR 450,00 for an 18-year-old. Small hint, each rejected financing greatly deteriorates credit.

If you can’t save € 450 together, you can’t pay a credit rate.

Exactly, save and buy. That’s gonna work out a few years, it’s gonna be something with the credits.

What do you not understand?

What kind of impunity is available to you? is this less than the deposit-free amount, your “Bonity” is equal to NULL

The fact that you have a current account does not mean that there is regular money.

And if you just decide to give up the minijob, there’s nothing left.

If you pay €500 per month, you can buy an IPad. Or you save three months.

How do you want to enforce if you don’t have income?

And if you just ignore the warnings? Should the supplier then retrieve his goods?
