Vaginal yeast infection – what now?
Hello!
I'm 17 and probably have a yeast infection—at least that's what I think. My intimate area itches, burns during sex, and there are little white "crumbs" on my labia. I did the Vagisan treatment for three days and still apply the cream every evening. I think it's gotten a little better; I even thought it was gone, which is why I've had sex with my partner again (we abstained during treatment).
During intercourse, my intimate area burned a lot and I was also quite “dry”
Now my question is what my next step should be. Gynecologist? I've actually never been there, and I'm a little scared, although it's unfounded.
Thanks for your help!
Even if the mushroom is gone, your vaginal environment (PH value etc.) is still in the recovery phase.
So you can eat your body more time.
In the pharmacy there are ointments like Clotrimazole 1% or other with the same active ingredient. If it is bacterial then only the doctor can prescribe antibiotics. Vagisan contains lactic acid and is more suitable after an infection. As an alternative, there are domestic drugs against mushrooms; see under domestic drugs.
In pharmacy you can get something against vaginal mushroom without prescription. But if that doesn’t help, there’s only one doctor appointment.
You should go to a gynecologist to make a smear, you know what you have. Your symptoms are quite violent, self-treatment with any ointments is never good without a diagnosis.
I know the first time there is unpleasant, but at some point it’s always the first time.
I’m sure there’s no harm on a doctor’s appointment.
