…. yes, there are many in use, from the coffee machine to the industry, these switches are called reed contact”

In many areas such switches are indispensable.

yes, but the obstacle must not be metallic.
The switches are available with different switching ranges, depending on the magnet.
The queries for coffee machines for brewing containers and housing covers and so on work with such switches

That was also my first thought.

However, the contact does not stop when the magnet is gone again.

This is also the case, and when the magnet is approaching only next, a condition is in question

You can add the reed contact with a self-supported relay.
This means that the contact with a magnet is switched, this switches a relay sharply which bridges the reed, it can then only be switched off manually.

….maybe, there will surely be more solutions.
I often used this variant in industrial engineering, mostly in chemically demanding environments.

Electric shock relays would be more suitable.

Another possible solution is a transistor which becomes conductive with an induction current

Hello

These are reed contacts. However, they only switch as long as the magnetic field is in the right direction in the vicinity

magnetometer and then a logical gatter. a flip-flop.

The sensor is called magnetometer. the flip flop can then be implemented via software
