Save Steam game progress to external hard drive?

Since my computer has very little storage space, I bought a 1TB external hard drive. I've installed a few games on it, but whenever I play a game, Steam, or the game itself, always saves my progress to my computer's hard drive. This causes it to become completely full and overloaded. How can I save my progress to my other hard drive?

You need to redirect your libraries to the Steam settings.
