Punctuation?

Hello everyone,

I have a question: does it really trigger you when someone puts a punctuation mark after the space at the end of a sentence?

At this point everyone does it like this, e.g.:

The Peppercorns was my favorite show when I was a kid.

But with an exclamation mark or question mark, it looks like this for many:

I often go home from school annoyed because the fire alarm was pulled for fun seven times this week. The teachers should have just given us the day off!

Is Blankenese far from Dulsberg?

So, this kind of thing really annoys me, having to put punctuation after a space. It's always best to do it after the last word (it should also be grammatically correct). If everyone in the YouTube comments wants to be a know-it-all when it comes to grammar and spelling, they might as well pay attention to that.

Now, I'm not dramatic about things like that, but it's kind of a trigger for me.

How do you see it?

It doesn’t bother me extremely, because there are really worse things on GF. But I notice it and disturbs me from the look. Errors in the text – no matter what kind – distract me, and that is of course annoying.

I must say, however, that your mistakes disturb me much more than this little superfluous space. To name only one example:

What do you see?

You obviously have problems with verb conjugation. But that should be “see” in everyday verbs No when a child visits the school.

Correct: How see you the?

So, “who sits in the glass house should not throw stones. “😉

It doesn’t bother me because it’s done in French. That’s why I’m used to this phrase. It is basically a formal error; worse, I find interpointion errors etc. on the grammar or spell level.

Even worse is often the assembly and the choice of words… 🙈

I find the word “Joa” even more ugly than pegs.

I don’t think it’s very nice. I think it’s common in other languages.

But what is actually easy “triggering” when someone has a point and puts a question mark/examination mark! That’s rather rare, but I’ve seen GF here a few times – how do you get that idea?

It’s nice if Orthography and Interpunktion are even controlled. This is becoming more and more rare.

Hello!

Such mistakes may be made, learning is important.

If it were a professional German teacher, I would naturally wonder.

After all, there are much worse things – if you look at your sentences. 😉 (meaning net!)

You can prescribe or make an extra space left of the set if it is intended – for appearance. Usually it is so natural wrong.

But I will not tell everyone, but wish all the good and a beautiful life! 😊 Language is language and that you can express yourself correctly, and not yelling at a space like a lunatic “stop”.

Greetings! 😉

So? If a blank leads to a misunderstanding, so he somehow lands in court, okay…

But should we kill him now? Isn’t it a bit exaggerated? According to the “German Book” it is wrong, but we are people and not crazy or aliens in the name of the German space book!

Nice communication is important.

A blank does not lead to problems (with me). He can intend. As mentioned.

Your question was: do you trigger this? My answer: Nö + justification. Point. What’s the problem? It’s done for me.

“Extreme” would be exaggerated, but it shows a certain lack of intelligence. By the way, this form of character setting is called “Plenk” or “Plenken”.

Magnificent. For every crap, a subject. I love the German language!

It is network jargon and not a subject.

Again. I think I have to get a vocabulary:

  • plenken = insert an empty space in front of final set characters (= wrong)
  • klempen = do not place a necessary space (= wrong)

It’s better than not to put a record. Because that sucks me a lot more.

There were already users who wrote all the novels here without putting a single record or making a paragraph. I won’t read that. Very exhausting.
