Satellite dish aligned | Signal strength 60% | Signal quality 0% – Why?
Hello everyone,
I'm a complete novice, so I'm asking here. I'd like to receive German and Italian TV channels.
So far I have acquired the following:
The following bowl: https://www.amazon.de/dp/B00LPSBLIQ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
The following receivers:
+ Tivisat Card (Gold)
I have connected everything so far:
Coaxial cable connected to the dish and receiver. Tivusat card inserted. Dish aligned to Astra 19.2 East: According to the location, 30.6 (vertical) and 167.7 (horizontal). I've aligned it, but despite moving it back and forth and adjusting it, the signal strength remains at 60% and the quality at 0% (see image). I'm starting to despair… why? What am I doing wrong? Does anyone have any ideas? Do I need to change/adjust something on the receiver?
As I said, I am a layman and would appreciate any constructive advice.

You bought a nice cheap ramsch. *Augenroll*
Okay. Now to the solution. Astra consists of several satellites!
On your picture you can see to the left that you selected “Astra 1C”. This satellite has long been retired and stands in the sky at 9° East (E)
Scroll down the list until you get the Astra E to find satellites on Position 19,2° East (E) sits.
Then align your bowl correctly again.
Short Wiki Info for Astra 1C:
In July 2006, Astra 1C was deducted from position 19,2° East and reactivated again at position 2,0° East after a short period in November 2006. From November 2008 to November 2, 2011, so-called “feeds” were transmitted via it. Since November 2, 2011, the satellite is no longer active. His successors are Astra 1E, Astra 1KR and Astra 2C.
I see. Thank you for your quick message.
But should the TV display not show more than 0% of the signal quality with correct alignment? The bar does not move at all.
If the bar shows nix, either the alignment is not correct or anything else is faulty (short circuit in the antenna plug)
You did the orientation right. (Horizontal AND Vertical?) It’s not just the same direction. You have to do everything 100% right.
I’m sorry, I’m not gonna help you on a distance course. Ask someone who has already installed a bowl to help you on site.
By the way, my guess: You have a short circuit in one of the F plugs
Yeah, it was straightened and moved back and forth… for hours. Then have the coaxial cable directly connected to the remote (includes an integrated reciever) , as I thought it was running at Reciever. Even without success. There, 0% is displayed for both, signal strength and signal quality, despite correct alignment. Can it be that the LNB is defective? How can I check this?
