SATA SSD?
Hello, I have the B550 F motherboard and have both M.2 slots occupied. I have six SATA slots free and wanted to ask if they're all functional, because I read somewhere that if you use both M.2 slots, not all SATA slots will work. Thank you very much.
This depends on the PCIe Lanes of the CPU. Each M.2 and SATA SSD needs PCIe Lanes, the graphics card as well and these are quickly used up. A CPU usually has 16 PCIe Lanes and the Graka needs min. 8 and M2 in each case 4. There is nothing left for SATA, except for these data lines are snapped off by the GPU, which can reduce the power of this.
You remember rightly.
In Manual under shared bandwidth:
Sata 5 and 6 are disabled if you use the M2_2 slot.
So can only use the first 4 Sata ports.
The first four are sata III?
They are called Sata6G, that should be Sata III, yes.
