SAS (not SATA) HDD to USB?
Is there an adapter/docking station that doesn't charge €200 for nothing for a bit of plastic and technology? It can't be true that there are many solutions under €30 for SATA HDDs but not for SAS HDDs.
The SAS to SATA converters only work from SATA to SAS and not the other way around, so this is not a solution.
Hello,
best take a SAS to SATA adapter and plug one of the usual SATA to USB. You get under 30€

The things from China need up to 14 days, but are most convenient. The same from Germany cost more!

Wow, I didn’t think about that. Thank you.
I have often heard that people have tried to mimic the SAS to SATA adapter, and then have connected the hard drive to a normal PC with the help of the adapter. So you think it works as you described?
And did the self-built SAS to USB adapter work? I would also like to try this, but you also advised me to try something like this (even if my only purpose is to check the functionality and make the hard drive clear).
These are 2 potential sources of error, but the evaluations are mostly positive. I use an INATEC SATA to USB 3.0 adapter and am highly satisfied.
SATA and SAS are so similar that a Sata PLATTE would run IM SAS connection, but not vice versa.
Well, look.
No, I can’t. You will (probably) need the INDMEM SAS to USB, but will cost in the three-digit range…
