In any case, armored velvets feel much more comfortable when they have a soft sand bottom as underground.

It is really significant to see how they then dip with the whole head in the sand and plough. In addition, it is possible to see clearly in comparison gravel and sand soil that the armored velvets have massively longer beards – because they are not worn and injured.

If you really want to maintain these fish responsibly, you just put them in the AQ when you have a sand bottom. Only one corner is not very sensible… because they are on the way all day throughout the AQ and search the ground for food.

Right, that would be exactly as if someone had a big garden, but only feels comfortable in a small corner;-)

Hello

Pandapanzerwels and all other armored catfish can also be kept on gravel, but a continuous sand bottom is better.

Therefore, when planning a basin with armored beads, always take soft sand.

A Sandecke is a compromise solution and neither as good as sand nor as suboptimal as only gravel.
