Safety with pool lighting?

Hello, I have a pool on my balcony with a 4-meter-long 5V RGB LED inside. The LED is waterproof. The USB power supply is located in the apartment and is connected to the LED by a 5-meter-long cable. This means the power supply is disconnected from the mains.

If I now use the following LED power supply to operate the LED in the pool, what other safety risks do I need to be aware of, and how can I mitigate them? Can I safely operate the LED in this way? (Even assuming the LED ever develops a leak or the power supply is defective?)

Thanks for your answer!

Hi.

Yes sounds like “only 5V”. Just let the power supply go a bit wrong, or one day it is a cheap China power supply, which is possibly more insecure than that of Bosch, and you already have the phase in the pool, which is potentially fatal. Maybe a Powerbank is an option for you. No unnecessary risk for electricity and water.

With a good power supply, the primary and secondary sides would have to be separated well enough, but it would not be worth trying out my life. People have already died with cheap charger and smartphone in the bathtub.

However, the symbol for SELV is present on the illustrated power supply, and I trust Bosch to comply with this even if they specify it.
