A hump is a type of run pressure, in which the spine arches forward in a convex curve. This leads to the shoulders falling forward and the head being inclined backwards. A hump can be caused by various factors, including genetic predisposition, injuries or diseases of the spinal column. In contrast to this, a run pressure is a deviation of the normal spinal curve in which the spinal column arches backwards in a concave curve. This leads to the shoulders falling backwards and the head being inclined forwards. Run pressure can be caused by incorrect sitting, overweight or muscle weakness. In general, a hump is a stronger and more pronounced form of run-press.
