Running with a broken ankle?
I twisted my ankle really badly yesterday, but I was still able to walk despite the pain.
Since the foot immediately turned blue and swelled slightly above the ankle, I treated it with ointment and a support bandage and cooled it.
Today I was able to walk relatively well all day, but it was also extremely painful.
I can move my foot completely and walk normally, it just hurts a lot.
Now after about an hour of walking today, the foot is even more swollen, the hematoma is larger and darker, and the foot hurts more.
Maybe I should have taken more care of myself.
Since I don't like going to the doctor and don't want to hold up the emergency room with such minor ailments, I just wanted to ask about experiences here.
Would it theoretically be possible that the foot is broken or a ligament is torn despite possible movement?
Were you still able to walk with such an injury?
I've had a sprained ligament before.
Ointment bandages and rest were enough there, so I thought I would do the same here, as I initially assumed it was another strain.
But if this were to be something worse, we would probably have to act differently and do more, hence my question.
I realize no one here can give me a diagnosis, but experience would be a starting point. Because if you can never walk with such serious injuries, then it's definitely out of the question and more likely just another strain.
However, if you can still walk with it sometimes, I would of course still go to the doctor on Monday.
So: Were you still able to walk with a torn ligament or a broken (upper) ankle?
By the way, this is the outer ankle joint.
The Wayne Rooney once played a half with a broken foot, it’s not healthy. One from the place has died after an unrivalled break due to a rare sepsis by bacterium. So swing the hoove, haha, at the latest by the mo to the accident doctor.
Oh, okay. I’ve always been told that with a fracture you can’t run anymore. I can still move my foot, so I didn’t think anything. But then I’ll go to the emergency meeting on Monday and get a transfer to the X-ray :0
I hope it is not really a break with me, that would be my first and that in the summer.
But could also be a ligament crack as similar to my pa at can I not say exactly because I cannot run
Good improvement.
Thank you.
Also good improvement
Thank you.
So I know myself with fractures, cracks and cracks, etc. But in the theme do not sit in the wheelchair but if you can nomarize your pain between 1 to 10 how much does your foot hurt and if it hurts where he in the foot ankles
I once had an surgery on the leg and the pain is just comparable to the then directly after the op when the painkillers left.
On a scale of 1-10, I would say 8-9.
Over the day, it was like a 5 until I ran 2 times a half hour, now, as I said, it has been very strong for 1-2 hours despite laying up, cooling etc.
Hmmm, I can’t say that, unfortunately, because I’m not right in front of you, but it sounds bad for me and you could run at the beginning?
Oh, and where, so it’s the whole foot right now, from where the toes stop to high above the ankle where the swelling sits.
Must be off
Is real was 😔😣 sometimes makes me sad when I see that
Yes, at the time, a child sat with his mum, which has passed over permanently. In total, 5 liters lost and the small had to wait even 8 hours. That really opened my eyes, since I’ve only been going to the emergency room for really bad emergencies.
I only use the ambulance at an acute risk, otherwise I drive myself or let myself be brought by relatives.
Is that better for everyone?
Actually, it’s a pity that doesn’t all see that, then the emergency shots would not be so full and there would be less complaints due to too long waiting times.
I have this problem all the time when what is really bad is waiting really great of you 😁
I worked in the hospital myself and did an internship there in the emergency room. If you can see that some of them bring their children there at 37.5 temperature on Friday afternoon or sit there because of weeks of abdominal pain or slight cold on weekends, you can only see how much this burdens an emergency. I myself sat there for 6 hours after an accident with suspicion of middle hand fracture and hellish pain.
I don’t want to do that to others 😀
I can still walk and ointment associations, raise and use walking support I can also do here until Monday morning.
I also have the advantage that I can sit there for a maximum of 2 hours and then arrange an appointment for the X-ray, so that I don’t have to wait long here in the radiology.
So it’s better for everyone
You have a heart of gold that I hear the fin I well 😀
Okay, then I’ll probably swing my hip to the doctor on Monday. Not recordings are always so full and I always feel so guilty of such things rather smaller :/
a good idea
It’s a ligament crack very clear and yes you should have some bad or bad check out because with a ligament crack isn’t too late my dad once had a bad one that had to do even ne surgery
Yes, I could run all the time, but now it becomes more difficult due to the pain. Maybe I should get my walkers out of the basement?
