Rufus?

I've made my USB stick bootable using Rufus. Now I want to update the BIOS with the USB stick. There are several files on the USB stick. What do I need to do with them? Is the stick now automatically bootable?

You don’t have to make the stick bootable for a BIOS update!

Simply format with FAT32, copy file and finish.

And then, according to instructions, update the BIOS, for example on a gigabyte motherboard: https://www.corsair.com/us/en/explorer/diy-builder/how-tos/how-to-update-bios-on-a-gigabyte-motherboard/

With Lenovo laptops, this goes without sticks directly into Windows with a Lenovo system program that can update all motherboard drivers and also the BIOS. I’ve been doing laptops for eight years.

It’s better if you’re asking. Normally, you encounter an update in uefi yourself, there is no call for anything else. Also a look into the readme from the update file should normally create clarity here. Don’t get your fingers off if you don’t even know about it in the most remote one, then in the worst case you go garnix more

Yes, the stick is now bootable.

New devices boot automatically from USB sticks as long as e has not been disabled. In old computers, you have to set the stick as the first boot medium in the BIOS.

Yes, you just need to select the USB stick to boot. Frequently goes with F12 presses right when starting.

If you did it right, the stick should be bootable.

It’s about a BIOS update? Surely there is a readme file where the procedere is described?
