Good evening Liam8968,

Your description seems very small to me. LAN is always preferable. If possible, please put a cable up. If this is not possible, best MESH use. A suitable router is required here or correspondingly several SPEED HOME WLAN, so that a network can be built up. Unlike an ordinary repeater, this compound is significantly more stable and does not result in massive speed losses.

Best regards

Natalie

“Router doesn’t go” seems to be the wrong statement here. If the WLAN does not run well in a floor, you can try to better position the repeater. He shouldn’t be too far away from the router, because if he gets only a bad signal, he can’t do much.

I proposed a LAN mesh

Since the questioner did not consider it necessary to make information about the router and repeater, I was consciously only sparingly replied. 😊

My recommendation:

place LAN cable from the router to the upper floor, this repeater to join. With the Speedport Smart 4 in Mesh operation use. The TP-Link repeater together with the Speedport is not mesh capable, I would not have bought it at all.

What router? Manufacturer/model? Also repeater, manufacturer/model?

He doesn’t even give feedback

If you have two floors, it could work right over it, but if there is to cover a larger area, then there can be difficulties. I am very surprised at these questions that no information on the devices is written at all. That makes the answers as arbitrary, but it doesn’t help. So, what WLAN router is that which amplifier/repeater is that? How is the repeater connected – with a LAN cable or via WLAN? Is that just 3 megabits a second? Because you can’t even surf through the internet without getting mad immediately before loud waiting.

If the rooms belong to you, then a network cable from the WLAN router puts into the other floor. Then connect the WLAN repeater with the network cable. As a result, it becomes an access point and can send/receive with a significantly better bandwidth.

There’s nothing to do with the water line.

He had no idea!

The access point is too far away.

A Lan cable transfer router on the ground floor to the router on the first floor.

The problem is there is no Wlan amplifier he only picks up the signal and makes a new signal.

The LAN cable is loss-free I recommend a Cat 7 cable which is shielded S/FTP which does not cause any disturbances in thunders or magnetic fields.

Laying a LAN cable would definitely be the means of my choice.

It’s not expensive.
