ZIEL:

You must connect to your FRITZ!Box and then log in under the menu item “Home network” > “Mesh” and then (right) under the tab “Mesh settings” again the selection “FRITZ!Box as mesh master” to activate

OBJECTIVE:

  1. Connect your PC/Laptop by LAN cable (Ethernet) with the Fritzbox (preferably take only 2 or 3 there)
  2. Then open an internet browser (best Chrome or Firefox) and tap into the address bar: 192.168.178.1
  3. Then log on to the opening user interface of the FRITZ!Box and proceed as described above under “Objection”

If there are problems at any point, please report here again with the exact error messages that you then receive or what exactly did not work after which step.

a frit?

I’m sure you can connect an Ethernet cable… right?

I would do that and put the other end in my computer (there’s only one hole)… http://fritz.box or http://192.168.178.1 the frit can reach and then the wrong setting can take back…

vllt you should still click your computer to have the IP 192.168.178.5 (just 5… iwas different than 1…)… okay? but normally, this should go via DHCP automatically as soon as the cable is plugged in…

yes… from 192.168.0.5/24 does not lead a way to 192.168.178.1/24

Honestly, you made me feel a little insecure now and I’m just testing it out. But if your theory would be 100% true, it should not be attainable at 192.168.

real? doubtful… if my computer has the IP 10.0.0.5/24 and no route for 169.254.1.1., then he has no idea what to start with the 169 IP…

PPS: if you use the Not IP address of the FRITZ!Box, it doesn’t matter what you’re doing for ne IP confirmation. You always reach them.: http://169.254.1.1

What do you mean?

you can’t get this thing over LAN (i.e. Ethernet) after you’ve been walking around the WLAN?

LUKEars

have no Ethernet cable?

via Wi-Fi you will reach the thing no more…

a total factory reset would be a bit annoying because you would have to re-enter the internet access data…

the frit “from & again” have already tried… have you?
