Scooter won’t start anymore?

So I was riding my scooter yesterday, but this morning I cleaned it and then I tried to start it, but then the scooter wouldn't start. I can hear the normal engine noise and the lights come on. It just won't start. The same thing happened to me a week ago: I was riding and the scooter suddenly died out of nowhere and wouldn't start again. I towed it home and charged the battery, then it started again. But now it won't start again. What could be causing this and what should I do?
