Scooter with sports exhaust slower?
Hi, I have a Pegasus Corona setup: Airsal 50cc sport, Tecnigas Silent Pro (de-restricted), 5g weights, sport V-belt, 67mm jet (60 is original). And now I have a question. Before, the scooter ran around 65 with an original cylinder and original pot, now it only runs 55-60 and it takes quite a long time to do that. The carburetor and variator are well tuned, the scooter doesn't overrev when starting off and accelerates very well up to 40, but after that the strong performance somehow ends, what could be wrong? I don't have any more restrictors installed in the scooter and the scooter doesn't stutter at full throttle etc.
Especially in the case of 2-stroke engines, the entire flow system is finely tuned to one another, and the exhaust also has to build up a certain counterpressure that the mixture which projects out of the crankshaft chamber completely fills the combustion chamber and only pushes the exhaust gas out. If you now install a so-called sports exhaust with lower flow resistance, it can happen that the mixture is partially simply blown through to the exhaust, and you therefore have less gasoline air mixture in the cylinder, which then leads to a reduced power.
And what can I do about it? Have also installed a performance-enhancing cylinder
Just try the normal pot. Apparently, you have “improved” too much at the same time and shot beyond the target, so that the whole vote no longer fits. To construct such a motor requires many flow and heat teaching calculations. If you simply intervene without these calculations, and all that individually promises more performance, this can go completely beyond. Therefore, only one by one.
