My scooter's battery is dead and I can only start it with the kickstarter. The lights don't work either, but the rear light comes on when I brake. The indicators work, too.
Is the light related to the battery or is it an isolated case?

That’s the battery. The generator needs energy to produce more. After all, no permanent magnets are installed. There’s an exciter coil in there where a magnetic field has to be built. The voltage and possible power are regulated.
Without a charged battery, this cannot work.
