Ritalin is a brand name of the active ingredient methylphendiat (MPH). MPH is a medicament from the group of phenylethylamines which is approved for the treatment of ADHD. It develops its effect in which it inhibits the resumption of the messengers norepinephrine and thus contributes to their increased availability.
MPH has a concentration-promoting effect on all people, whether they have an ADHD or not. The concentration becomes more intense and can be maintained much longer. Daduch can learn more content in a shorter time. But what MPH does not do is smarter.
In people without an ADHD, MPH has a stimulating effect. In the positive, this means having more energy. In the negative, there can be states of internal unrest, tension and nervousness. In people with an ADHD, however, MPH has a soothing effect. Their hyperactivity and impulsivity disappears. They often feel like “middled”.
MPH can cause numerous side effects for all consumers. The most common (over 10% of all consumers affected) are inflammation of the nasal and throat mucosa, reduced appetite, insomnia, nervousness, nausea and dry mouth. Followed by numerous other potential unavoidable effects, however, which occur somewhat less frequently.
MPH is offered in the form of tablets with immediate and in the form of capsules with controlled release of active compound. 40mg is usually retarded. The effect occurs after about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Ritalin LA/Adult reaches the maximum plasma concentration after about 4-6 hours. Ritalin LA/Adult in specialty has a double release. Wants half of the active ingredient to be released immediately and the other skins will not be released after 4-5 hours. Other retraded MPH products have a different plasma profile.
Preventive Note: If you have never consumed MPH and take a 40mg retarded capsule… is not really recommended. You don’t know what you’re doing on MPH. 40mg is relatively much for the beginning.
