Riding alone – afraid of having done something wrong?
Today was the first time I was alone with my horse-riding partner. Everything went great, but somehow I'm terrified that I've done something wrong. It sounds totally stupid, I know, but I'm just afraid that someone at the stable will tell the owner that I'm not a good rider, that the horse was nervous around me, or something like that. They keep a particularly close eye on new people and people under 18 at the stable. :/
And of course I want to make a good impression… Now I'm thinking the whole time about whether I've done something wrong and I've gone through it a thousand times in my head to see if I've really tidied everything up, etc.
Is this normal? Will it go away over time once you get into a routine?
Hello!
Yeah, that’s normal. You put a little under pressure, even if it is not necessary.
And even if something is not perfectly tied up, it doesn’t matter. I myself have a horse and my riding share was initially a bit excited and had panic to do something wrong.
Meanwhile, I’ll be sworn by him when I forget to hang the halter in the locker π
Don’t worry about it. Is there always people who look stupid or say something stupid, just stand over it.
Good luck and fun with your new riding share!
The only thing you’ve done wrong is to make you that head. The owner has entrusted her horse to you in the awareness that someone with less than 18 years of life experience cannot bring 30 years of riding experience.
And that if something is new, a little nervous is normal. And that this is transferred to the horse is also clear. Everyone knows that. The owner hardly expects everything from the start to run optimally and routined. It expects reliability and conscience. So, if you’re not sure about anything, you can ask questions about your first impressions.
For example: βHello.., for the first time I was a little excited now, it worked quite well today and this and that we will soon get there. I’m sure you’re right to be able to take a while. Oh, yes, and the halter did I hang correctly?….β
And yes, with the nervousness lies with the experience. Provided you trust the owner and didn’t bother you with doubtful views. The fence guests can also make you your allies π
If it went well for you, nothing was. Why are you so insecure? You’ve met before and you’ve been riding on the horse before the owner….she took you, so it can’t have been so bad.
Hey,
It was the same with my Rb!
In the beginning, I had something wrong.
It has helped me not to think about it and simply go through my thing and 2. talk to the fellow installers or talk to the owner to be sympathetic.
