Horse riding in line with (m)a horse is the best thing I could experience in this world. But I don’t mean ” rides” Ă  la Ostwind, just as little as riding in sports if the horse doesn’t count anymore.

It is important whether leisure/sport/… to ride the animal healthy, to know and fulfill its needs (stop, feeding, free movement, social contacts, adapted pensum, reasonable equipment) and to ensure that it can do without harm at all what the rider wants from him.

A bit of step, trab, gallop tends is not really sports – concentrated work, a difficult dressage unit, a fast terrain ride, a VS/Spring course is not to be mastered without corresponding training, muscles and fitness of the rider (naturally anyway of the horse).

Riding is everything,

From transportation, hobby sports, professional riding, sports riding, high-performance sports and art.

From absolute animals and human beings to absolute perfection between two beings.

Riding is a very high art and really complicated, I keep riding from high-performance sports relatively little because the horses are unfortunately really bad. I would like to go to high-performance sports if there was a general renovation in the concept

In contrast to Dilletanten, professional riders know best what is good for the horses, and usually also implement it.

And also many in the leisure area are bad, by wrong riding, feeding around attitude

Says high performance sports

It depends.

Horseback riding is a good thing as long as it is (particularly against the horse!) fairly operated.

Riding can be sports – or also relaxation, art, work,… according to requirements.

I’m riding myself and having a separate horse or Pony and can say horse riding is definitely a sport if you do it right…I think that riding is a very beautiful sport is un d fair to the animal too if you do it right. There are unfortunately a lot of black sheep in riding sports and unfortunately a lot of “reiters” are selfish and do not pay attention to the horse…

I love riding. When it is executed as people do with mind, it is a very demanding sport.

Absolutely sport. Sport does not have to be a sweaty race.See also the sports that are now considered Olympic

Sporty riding IST “sweating”.

This question has already been asked 1.001 times… so you can hardly write everything again… just look at the old posts, the thing itself doesn’t change, just because it might be a few days old…

I find recreational rides (if you can) and sometimes even Western rides (Trail and the like) are the only horse sports that do not harm the horse. Once it comes to maximum performance, the fun stops. Isn’t a miracle that many sports horses disappear from the picture after 2, 3 years….

but also for the rider riding is already sport….

The opposite is the case…

In high-performance sports, horses at the age of about 17 are often officially adopted by sport – and have a beautiful, long life afterwards. In the case of leisure riders, however, I see very many according to the motto “good is not well done long ago” because the ignorance and arrogance (often with lack of financial opportunities) suffocates every need for further education.

I don’t mean “free-time riding” the private leap, but something like this:

https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vereinigung_der_Freizeitreiter_and_-fahrer_in_Germany

There are no horses over too high obstacles or almost impossible speeds… At the tournament sport, Dressur is still okay, as only natural movements are reinforced there.

“not rare” horses with 17? Which one? I just think of Lenamore (diversity). Galopper are finished with 5….

The question was whether riding is sports. Yes, it is. Both for rider and for horse. I’m just thinking when you run sports together with a living entity, it also has to do both fun. This does not imply that the horse is forced to unnatural movements (rolling, for example, but precisely so the extremely reduced head posture of some Western disciplines) or efforts that damage their health. DANN is not a sport for me anymore, but animal torture. That is why I mentioned some disciplines where horses in natural attitude and natural pace hopefully carry their riders joyfully.

Your answer implies something completely different….! Since you’re thrown with superlatives, who make you believe that only “trailers” are the one true animal friends, and all who “request more” are evil.

That’s why I meant the “professional” leisure riders. And it is clear that there are such and such everywhere….

This is quite common in dressage and jumping. Last but not least Dalera BB.
Galopper are finished with 5 sports, but when they come into the right (professional!) hands, they give off very good recreational horses. If I ever wanted to get my own horse again, a “ready” would be Race horse at my first choice! However, I would never trust this with almost 30 years of experience without retraining PROOFFESSIONAL help. What comes out of such a dilletanic attempt, we look at GF on the corresponding questions…

Grade Western horses in sport, on the other hand, are on average almost as fast “ready” as a gallop – but then not to use anymore because completely flat.

Unfortunately, there are no loadable numbers/studies, but according to my observation, there are everywhere such and such – but the share, broken humanized and broken free time horses is proportionally higher than with professionals.

When I see the jumping sport: in a M-jumping I can barely see where the diletants somehow torture themselves with their horses over the obstacles. Where professionals are at the start, there is a different style.

And clear – the black sheep among the famous professionals are too right at the pregnant among the critical eyes of the public. But that’s a lot of sensations. The countless still-fearing horses, which are badly ridden and mistreated by superb leisure riders due to lack of elite skills, have no voice…

If you really want to know what’s going on, instead of just running polemics, read “The horse in positive tension”. By the way, the owner of a recreational stable gave me wondering that the horses that were best kept with her were hardly recitable in a surprising number for themselves because of orthopedic problems.

Whether on holiday or as a riding share: I like to be in the saddle everywhere, no matter what riding style, because I have never stopped getting as much lessons as possible with masters of their subject. I’m not a professional, I don’t have the twist, but I’m sticking to their instructions m and the result can be clearly seen – whether in the race – Western – baroque saddle, whether in the tournament case or on holiday with horse whisper, whether with bit or without…

True to the motto

“Richtig rideen Reicht” (Zitat Oberst Stecken).

But the predominant part of us leisure riders is of the opinion that everything is already better to know and to know than the professional and has no further teaching “need”.

I am also a leisure rider myself – but I find quite little like-minded people who are valued for continuous learning with the professional. And that’s what you’ll find in the health of the horses…

The horse does the work and the rider fits on that he does not fall down. Personally, I don’t really see it as sports, but rather as a pastime. In the end, the rider can be celebrated, which he did not like by Gaul.

Sorry, this is also typical of a rider. They can’t handle the truth. 🙂 .

Besides, you shouldn’t ask if you don’t understand the answers. :

Horseback riding is also very exhausting for the rider if you really ride and can not just be worn like a bag

, Well, you don’t understand anything about riding. So your answer is simply “not helpful” … :-/

Riding is also very exhausting for the rider. There are quite people who, unfortunately, just let themselves be worn by the horse and don’t really care about the animal. But there are also other people who ride their horses fair and also hold. From high-performance sports, I don’t really think much now, because some horses are really not good. And they are only held to bring money and glory.
