REX6 and REX93 Austria drives across the border?

I recently noticed that if you want to travel by train from Vienna to Deutschkreuz, for example, you inevitably have to go via Hungary.

  1. As a child, do you need parental consent to travel this route?
  2. What would happen if Hungary, for example, banned the ÖBB from operating on its routes?

Thanks for all the answers.

This connection has also existed before 1989 – at the time of the iron curtain – and it has worked.

Good evening.

I am not 100% sure, but I believe that ÖBB and Hungary have signed a contract. I accidentally saw this. RIS – Border clearance in rail transport (Hungary) – Federal law consolidated, version of 12.08.2024 (bka.gv.at). That’s what I’m saying.

Best regards
Tijn

No, you don’t need a passport. The train never stops in Hungary.

If Hungary locks the piece, ÖBB does not drive.

Then at least one EU ID, e.g. ID card or passport, you have no problem
