Revise a book – Fantasy?

While clearing out, I found some things that I wrote a book about four years ago.

I read through the whole thing and just love the story.

Only my writing style and the idea are not very original.

I still wanted to ask how I can best start and how I can develop the idea so that it becomes a unique idea without changing the actual meaning

Thanks in advance!

I have experience….

Your book isn’t very original? Look at everything and ask yourself what inoriginals you can give up. (with me it was, for example, Gandalf) Think out your own names for places and people, take the step, and I know that fantasy names are necessary for reconciliation. Change in particular the things that do not favor you (with me, for example, it was that 8 out of 10 of the gods were unnecessary, I found them uninteresting and often wore abcorporated names)

What work is the “original” of your history? You can compare your story with the original to know what’s still missing.

It really seems too easy. One has to describe the new world more precisely, so that it becomes something special.

You could start the snowflake method.

Here is an explanation:

And here I found a little vivid picture on the Internet that highlights the principle:

The fewest ideas are really new. Give your people character, build a few surprising turns, and from 08/15 something special…

First of all, you should find out why you actually love this story if it is neither “special original” nor linguistically very quality.

Why should she be written anyway?

What’s the one-time thing about it?

What’s her sense, what’s the statement?

With lack of ideas, I recommend the cluster procedure. (https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cluster_(Creatives_Writing)
