Replacing a scooter V-belt – dimensions vary slightly – what happens?

I need to install a new V-belt on an Aprilia Gulliver. The original one is very expensive. It measures 739mm x 16.3mm x 28mm. The alternative belt, €40 cheaper, measures 738mm x 16.5mm x 28mm. I don't want the scooter to go faster because of the belt. The scooter should reach its legal top speed of 50 km/h. Can I install the alternative belt without any concerns?

The 0.2 mm difference in width and just 1 mm in length play no role. This is already below the production tolerances of the series.

The dimensions say that the V-belt has a little more tension after installation in the new state. To this extent, the function should not be disturbed. There is a somewhat higher bearing load if it is the same material. However, there is no indication of material and therefore voltage and service life. Shouldn’t be a problem either. In the case of a large price difference, which is not only in the range of trade, caution is required. You get what you paid for!

It’s safe. Don’t worry.
