Replace MacBook Air M1?

Hi,

I currently have a MacBook Air M1 with 8GB RAM and 256GB.

I've been thinking about changing it for a few days now, since 8GB of RAM is relatively little and I'm always almost fully used or have 1-2 GB in swap.

I'm going to buy a used MacBook.

I would like to get a MacBook Pro M3, it has everything I want (better camera, better display, better microphone) and the best battery life of the MacBooks, but everything under 1400€ unfortunately only has 8gb ram, so I'm thinking about getting a MacBook Pro with the M1 Pro, which costs around 1200€ and has 16gb/512gb, but according to Apple it has slightly worse battery life than the MacBook Air m1.

You could use the trade-in program from Apple and give your current MacBook in payment. However, the condition etc. must also be taken into account. If you don’t need your current MacBook, I’d give it to go down from your desired MacBook 200-300 Euro.

Then do that. In any case, you save a lot

The 8 GB RAM brake the device quickly, which is also the case with the M3. The M1 Pro with more working skills will therefore feel faster.

The M1 Pro has a somewhat lower battery life than the M1 or M3, but if you really need it, I never get my MacBook really empty.

if you pay your MacBook, you get in the rain at least. 200 euro credited. Depending on age and condition, you get d more or less and have done something good to the environment. you can sell it if it’s still good in the spot on e-bay. you also get more than Apple trade in.

I hope I could help you
