Repayment of costs for car conversion and integration assistance?
Four years ago, my family was forced to buy a car that also had to be modified for €9,000. Now we're considering buying a new car, as we no longer need these modifications.
Do we have to reimburse the integration assistance agency the €9,000 of the sales price?
It depends on what has been laid down in the agreements with integration aid. In the transport decisions or contracts, exactly how to proceed in the event of a sale of the converted vehicle is regulated.
If the grant of the integration aid was intended, the vehicle must be used for the intended purpose over a fixed period of time. If this deadline has expired, there is usually no obligation to pay back. The deadlines are often 5 years.
I recommend that you carefully examine the contract documents or ask directly to the competent body of integration aid.
Thank you.
