Road bike tire slightly cracked?
I noticed that the tire on my road bike is slightly cracked, and there's a red mark on one side—a tiny dent under 0.5 mm, like a tiny bulge, but not even noticeable in photos. Now the question is, do I really need a new one? I'm running tubeless and 7 bar on both. The tire is a Schwalbe Pro One Tubeless Easy. Thanks.
Ps the mini cracks are in several places on the side.
Such little cracks are harmless. The rubber hardens slightly with time and becomes just cracked. Only when the cracks are on the tread will the tire become a bit more susceptible to chipping over time, because the splitters remain better stuck and then work through the tire over time. For the tightness, “inside” is still a rubber layer, or the cracks should be only external.
Where splinters at tubeless, then does the sealing liquid, so present?
The force is not compensated by the rubber, but by the central fabric. Only when this is defective can the coat burst.
Thanks, the fabric is still super
Hi would exchange it, I have tires from Kendy which are good and cheap, recommend also the tires occasionally with silicone spray not to spray oil, especially the new tire on the edge then it can be mounted very easily and disassembled
My friend also drives tubeless. The tire burst and I had to pick him up…. He was probably driving over a bad road
So I would exchange the coats
