Road bike handlebar?

Hello, I'm pretty excited because my order will arrive tomorrow and it includes two brake and shift levers because I bought a racing bike handlebar today.

Now to my question: I can simply change the handlebars, right? I currently have a normal bike, which also has a normal handlebar. Everything should fit, so there's nothing stopping me, right?

Steering width, from 40 to 44cm are common, and much more important the clamping dimension must be correct, here there are 25.4 (only with cheap racing wheel guides) 25.8 & 26.0mm (older manufacturer-specific racing wheel steering dimensions) and now often 31.8mm.

The measure must be found in the pre-construction or identical to the previous handlebar, normal 25.4 or 31.8mm.
