Renew/expand memory/RAM but which one?
Quick question: I currently have 8GB of RAM installed in my PC (Aldi Medion PC E 62029 -> 1 of 2 slots occupied). Recently, it's been running at such high capacity (peaking at 100%) that it's crashing—which is why I definitely need to upgrade. What's a **cheap** option you can recommend? (Module:
288-pin DIMM
Type:
SDRAM DDR4
Beat:
2666 MHz
Tension:
1.2 V
Special feature:
no ECC support
)
If an emergency shutdown occurs, memory usage is definitely not the cause, because that is simply impossible.
What, for example? It only happens when I'm playing games; the RAM isn't overloaded, but it's not happening anymore.
Such a shutdown occurs when the CPU overheats massively, for example. Memory usage can never cause such a thing. Your car won't turn off if your glove compartment is too full either. 🙂
RAM costs nothing
Ideally, check the board manufacturer's website to see which one is compatible.
But buy a KIT. So two or four of them. Then you should already see a 50% increase in performance.

Non ECC ist bei PCs ohnehin Standard.
Depends on what your motherboard can do.
If you had the exact name of the motherboard, you could check which RAM could be installed.

That one at most, I looked it up..
I would recommend getting another 8GB RAM stick with at least the same clock speed. If the clock speed is higher, the stick will simply drop to the clock speed of your first stick, so there won't be any problems.
Off the top of my head, something like this comes to mind:

In any case, this is the cheapest way to have 16GB RAM with the same clock speed.
