Rene Descartes – Grundlagen neu beginnen?

Hello I asked Bing Copilot:

René Descartes, an important philosopher, mathematician and scientist of the 17th century Century, with “I have to restart from the foundations” said that he has to question his entire assumptions and beliefs and put them on a solid basis. He recognized the need to review all previous assumptions and only accept that as true, which is absolutely safe.

With “principles” he means the most basic principles and beliefs that cannot be further doubted. A simple sentence describing his intention could be: “I have to reorder my thoughts from scratch.”

It is like building a house and recognizing that the foundation is not stable. Instead of continuing to build the house on an insecure foundation, one starts from scratch to create a stable base on which everything else can be safely built.

He doubts everything that is doubtful and then has an unquestionable foundation on which he can build.

(Spoiler: it doesn’t work)
