Equestrian sport = animal cruelty?

Hi,

According to a statement by Jonas Ems, equestrian sport is cruelty to animals.

In my opinion, it depends on the way you ride, whether the animal and the person are physically compatible, whether you take care of the animal in other ways, etc.

How do you see this?

Thanks to all who respond nicely, best regards Lotti3516

You can say a lot.

There are riders (no matter which direction), who are very likely to give something to their animals and other riders belong to the species where one really asks what is wrong with them and who, despite supposedly long experience, continue to bang the animal on riding in the back and wonder when something goes wrong.

I find the subject extremely difficult and did not even measure myself as a general answer can be given. But what I know apart from experience is that riding is often taught with methods that I can no longer find right. I used to ride and get a lot of time with my 9-year-old cousin, she likes to ride and regularly takes riding lessons. Both me and her have always been told that you’re supposed to get the barley on it if the horse doesn’t want to run. I don’t see a justification for this today. Why is my will to ride above that of the horses? For me, it’s very important whether the horse has fun riding. I can’t judge if there are horses that really like riding, I just don’t know. But when I learned to ride, the horses clearly found that shit and I can fully understand it today. As I learned, I can’t find it all right.

Still not flat-rate yes or no.

As with many others, it comes to the “like”.

Do I imagine that or does he really have a touch of Militante Vegan? 🤔 they always give such a cheese.

Not riding is the problem. Horses also have to be trained and, for example, to pamper their fears. This, however, counteracts nature and is therefore considered by many as animal torture.

Some studs also use questionable methods that make the whole “smooth”.

So it coaxes on the type of training and the attitude of the horses, not on being ridden.

no it is not. a horse must be ridden that you cannot put in the stable..

I love animals and especially horses, dogs very . Of course it always comes to the individual case on it, I don’t think that every animal owner is “cold”.

Well, no horse has to be ridden to survive. This is nonsense, but riding can be a good way to move the horse and be head employment for it. When it is done right and you look at the horse as a feeling being and treat it with enough respect and devotion.

The horse is not tormented when riding. People torture animals through animal husbandry. You’d have to forbid that.
