Reinstall AMD drivers?

Hi, I've had a new PC for a while now and I'm currently playing Helldivers 2. I usually have the AMD software app running when I play because I'm interested in FPS, load, etc. But the following happened while I was gaming. I had to enter a code in-game that was displayed in the top right. Because of the AMD software overlay, I couldn't see it, which is why I wanted to deactivate the overlay. But then the app started acting up, which meant I couldn't move anymore and so on. So I quickly opened the task manager and closed the app. After that, it worked for a short while, but after about 2 minutes, the game crashed and I got an AMD message "Driver Timeout".

Since then, Helldivers has been crashing constantly, always with the same message.

I've done some research and found out that it could be a software issue. And that to fix the problem, you should reinstall the driver and not reinstall the AMD Software app. Is that true? Has anyone had a similar problem? Or is there another solution? If not, is there anything specific I need to pay attention to when reinstalling the driver?

Thanks in advance. 🙂

Simply download the driver detection here. It will immediately recognize which driver you need and then you can choose whether you want just the driver or the entire software as well.

PS: You should do this regularly anyway to keep everything up to date.

You don't need to uninstall anything; the software itself will do that if necessary.
