Is a 400W power supply (Be Quiet Pure Power 9) model L9-CM-400W sufficient for an RTX 4060 and an i7?

Hey, I just got an RTX 4060 and an i7. Will the power supply mentioned above be sufficient for it?

Hello.

Depends on the I7 and the remaining components as well as periphery, but in principle rather not, no. You should plan here from 600-750W to capture any power peaks and have some buffer.

If possible, a power supply should not be permanently at 100% load, but should always be between 20-80%. And even if the 4060 doesn’t have too high TDP, an I7 of the latest generation in the peak comes to 300W.

Yes,

should be so rich.

The RTX 4060 is very effective and therefore needs 120W.

The BeQuiet System Power 400W 80+ bronze.

Don’t worry about it.

Since you have written in another answer that you have installed a 12700K, you can forget it with the 400W power supply. Except you deactivate the E-Cores and tact the P-Cores or give the CPU a fixed P2 limit of no more than 180W.

The monitor suddenly gets black, the PC crashes.

But before that, the fan of the power supply runs at full speed.

In an I7-12700K certainly not.

The things are pulling electricity that it could make competition to a small hob.

A good 850W is still there.

Well, if he doesn’t have a Z-Board now.

He just wrote “i7”.
And I can’t look bright.

But not with 400W 80+ bronze.

That’s not quite true. It can’t screw up the modifier, but can still overclock over the frequency and the P2 state is still predetermined. So remain the basic and turbotact, whether B or Z MB.

So,

a RTX 4060 is usually taken,

if you want to upgrade an older PC.

And I went out of it.

Or a pure Fortnite fan.

For an Alder Lake -K CPU you usually take a Z690/790 motherboard.

And the 400W power supply already lacks the two CPU power plugs.

Or you put the CPU in a B660/760 motherboard,
and then cannot overclock.
And then the Intel Core i7-12700K also takes up “only” 130W.

And come to 250W, plus 100W for the rest.

Then stay 25W for whatever.

That’s why I wrote . ðŸ ̃‰ I’m just giving you a reason.

He wrote that later.

Jo, I know. That’s why everyone else wrote that it’s on the I7. But even a 10700K e.g. B. would have become extremely short. Because it also pulls 250W standard clocked in the P2 State.

What processor?

There was also an i7 15 years ago.

But I guess 400w is too little.

Then definitely not.

on the BeQuiet website there is a power supply computer.

But a 400W power supply seems to be far too little. I guess the max load will be at 500W and you should plan a 550W power supply or better 600W power supply at min.
