Register to build your own 45 km/h e-bike?

If I build an e-bike that goes up to 45 km/h, could I register it somewhere so that I can ride it on the road?

As far as I know, you'd have to take the vehicle for an individual inspection before you're even allowed to drive it on the road. And it's questionable whether you'd be able to find an insurer for this tinkered vehicle. It'll be cheaper to buy one.

An S-Pedelec also has COC papers and the registration as a tested bike is also expensive for the manufacturer.

Equipping a tuned Ped with a license plate and a driver's license is at least better than driving around without an insurance license plate. However, you still lack legal registration.

Sura. Take it to the TÜV (Technical Inspection Agency), apply for an individual inspection or operating permit, and order a report.

But the chance that the vehicle will be registered is zero.
