Hi.

Not quite.

No problem without apples.

But you need a little fat, some acidity to balance the sugar and best some spice.

In other words, please add a spoon of butter, some vinegar or some more red wine and a star anise and/or a few carnations or pies.

That's what I always do, so just sniff cabbage, slices of butter, small pinch of salt, sugar (if it's raw sugar) Inelegant but effective and tastes.

Personally, red cabbage also has a little sweetness, eg in the form of apples. It harmonizes.

It doesn't have to be apples. A bit of cherry jam (or other dark varieties such as forest fruit, blueberry, currant ore) can also be taken very well, or cranberries. Or there are some corinths. A sip of apple juice.

Sugar (alone) I wouldn't take, there is no fruity touch. And vegetable broth wouldn't get me to the red cabbage.

Sure you can.

I think that with the red cabbage is more of a traditional and optical story.

I cooked red cabbage with onion and garlic this weekend, seasoned with broth, salt, pepper and Ras el Hanout, and then baked thick with cheese in the dish.

And there was white rice, and that with the blue and purple herb and the yellow cheese…

Was really delicious and beautifully colorful!

Yeah, it'll work out, but probably not as optimal as you hope. The apple plays a relevant role for the taste!

I'm always getting ready without apples. Can just take a prescription and leave the apples away.
