Recording music is delayed?

For example, when I try to record music in Audacity, my voice is delayed, meaning it's off-beat. Is this normal, or could it be something wrong with my PC or microphone? Microphone: Razer Seiren x USB Microphone

This can be normal if your microphone or computer is not synchronized. Check if your microphone and computer record at the same time by adjusting the settings in Audacity or syncing the PC and microphone clock.

A delay in recording music or singing in Audacity can be due to latency problems. Latency is the delay between the time when a tone is generated and the time when it appears in the softtware. This can be caused by various factors, such as the performance of your PC, the drivers of the microphone or the settings in Audacity.

Make sure you have the latest drivers for your Razer Seiren X USB microphone. Go to Razer’s website and download the latest drivers. Open Audacity and go to ‘Edit’ > ‘Settings’ (on a Mac ‘Audacity’ > ‘Settings’). Under “Devices” you select your microphone as an input device. Go to the “Record” tab and deactivate “Software Playthrough” as the additional latency can cause

In the settings window under “record” there is an option “Latenz Correction”. Here you can change the buffer size. A smaller buffer size can reduce the delay, but if your PC isn’t strong enough, it can cause disturbances. Try different values to find the best setting. Go to “Edit” > “Settings” > “Taking up” and activate “Latenz Correction”. Set the value for latency compensation. Start with the preset value and test your recordings to see if it gets better.

If you use Windows, you can try an ASIO driver that ensures lower latency times. Audacity does not support ASIO directly for license problems, but there are ways to compile Audacity with ASIO, which requires advanced knowledge. Close all unnecessary programs and processes that run in the background to improve the performance of your PC. Take a short test and check if the delay is better. Compare the recording with the beat and adjust the latency correction if necessary.

You should be able to minimize the delay in Audacity and sync your voice better. If the problem still exists, try another recording software to see if the problem is especially at Audacity.

You always have a little latez. Either you get this in the settings or you have to adjust one of the two sound tracks to the other. Is etched in duration but ne solution.
